TAIMA'2013, The International workshop TAIMA is one of the leading francophone conferences in the field of information processing and analysis. TAIMA brings together leading scientists to review and discuss state-of-the-art technologies and research results in this field and their application to address the major socio-economic issues faced by the Mediterranean region and related to the protection of the environment and sustainable development, telecommunications and multimedia, culture, health and security.

       TAIMA’2013, the eighth in the series that has been held biannually since 1999, will take place in Hammamet (Tunisia), from the 13th to 18th of May 20013. TAIMA’2013 is sponsored by ARTS-PI (Association de Recherche Tunisienne des Sciences Pour l’Image), the Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et Automatique (INRIA), the Ecole Nationale des Sciences de l’Informatique de Tunis (ENSI), the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications de Bretagne (Telecom Bretagne), the Société Française de Génie Biologique et Médical (SFGBM) and the Groupement de Recherche en Traitement du Signal et des Images (GRETSI).

      Prospective authors are invited to submit papers presenting fundamental theoretical and/or experimental research results in the fields of telecommunications and speech, image and information processing. Submissions presenting original algorithms, models, systems and applications in the areas of image analysis, mono-and multi-dimensional signal processing will be particularly appreciated. Applications related to biomedicine, remote sensing, cultural heritage valorization will be especially valued.

       The conference will include a series of special sessions given by distinguished researchers working on cutting-edge technologies and applications. Poster sessions and demonstrations will complete the oral sessions to provide participants with a pleasant and enriching scientific experience.

       The best papers with significant methodological contributions and/or original applications in the field of signal processing will be published in a special issue of the journal Traitement du Signal.

 A special edition of the journal Ingénierie et Recherche Biomédicale will publish a selection of the best papers presenting innovative research works in the field of health and biology.

       As in previous editions, papers accepted by the program committee will be published in a book published by the Arts-Pi Editions.
